Hey everyone!

Today, we address the elephant in the room - layoffs and the upcoming hiring freeze

Big brands aren’t hiring for community right now. It’s all layoffs and freezes.
All the open jobs I’m seeing are at Series A-B startups. Usually for their first community lead.If you’ve been wanting to try building community at a startup now is a great time to take that leap!

— David Spinks (@DavidSpinks)

Over the past few weeks, we have seen some of the best brains in the community industry getting affected by layoffs. It is a tough time and every little thing can help a community superhero shine.

Thus, we are launching Community Jobs boards - an initiative to help you find your next community role as soon as possible. Every week, our team curates a list of community roles from across the world. We have also added a few resources to help you in your job search and will keep on updating them.

We wanted to offer a helping hand to those looking for a transition.

Access Community Jobs Board For Free

We have also created a Twitter Bot (@communityjobbot) that will collate all the latest jobs for you. Just tag the bot wherever you see a community job posting on Twitter!

Wondering how you can help? Here are a few things you can do:

  • If you manage a community, set up 1-1 calls with people you haven’t connected with in a while. Check in on them, listen to them rant, and see how you can support them through your network.
  • If you are hiring for community roles, reply to this email and we will share it in our network and on our community jobs board.
  • Found a community hiring tweet while scrolling online? Just tag @communityjobbot on Twitter and we’ll collate the jobs in one place.
  • Know someone who is looking for a transition? Send this (and other) resources to them!

We are trying our best to get you all you need in these testing times. Have a suggestion or a recommendation? Let us know!

You can also look at other resources like Hire Me by Rosie Sherry, Community Talent Collective by David Spinks and Job Board by C3 Universe.

Please let us know if you come across other resources and we’ll do our bit to amplify it.

Read how Ultrahuman used Threado to save over 200 hours of manual work in driving engagement and activation.

Ultrahuman wants to create the biggest ecosystem for tracking metabolic health and fitness. They wanted a solution to improve engagement strategies and nurture a community. Threado helped them take a deep dive with actionable insights, data and automations.

Pocus pioneered Product-led Sales

Pocus interviewed hundreds of GTM leaders and found that 98% of them either have sales teams or are looking to hire a sales team soon enough. But these sales teams didn’t behave like typical sales teams. They were much more data-oriented, concise in their approach, and consultative. This was not sales-led growth but it wasn’t entirely product-led growth either. This was a whole new category, something that puts sales in the center without actually doing it.

Read how Pocus pioneered Product-led Sales (PLS) as a category while building a product and a community around it.

Before we go, leaving you with two things you must check out this week!

1. The importance of having community guidelines - Setting up regulations is not just important for the community but also for you because it helps you stay on top of everything without getting lost in the noise. Read more to understand why.

2.What to gift a community professional this holiday season? Wondering what to put on in your gift box? Jenny curated a list of gifts she recommends getting to community folks.

That's it for today! You can find us here on LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
